Frequently asked questions
Where is my information stored?
On your device, and nowhere else. MemoWho has no account, no sign-in, and no cloud sync — your entries are never uploaded to a server, and the developer has no way to see them. Uninstalling the app removes them from the device.
Can other people see the people I have saved?
No. There is no shared directory and no cross-user index of any kind. Nothing you record is searchable by anyone but you, on your own device.
Does MemoWho use photos?
No. The app never captures, stores, or displays images of anyone. Contacts are text only — that is a deliberate design decision, not a feature that is still to come.
Do I have to share my location?
No. Location is optional and off until you choose to use it. When enabled, it is read only while you are actively using the app, to record where you met someone, and it is saved on the device with the rest of that entry. MemoWho never tracks your location in the background. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings.
Will my entries move to a new phone?
Not on their own. Because everything is stored locally and there is no account to sign in to, entries do not follow you to a new device. Your phone's own backup system may carry app data across as part of a device transfer, depending on your settings, but this is handled by the operating system rather than by MemoWho.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual entries in the app, or uninstall MemoWho to remove all of them at once. Since nothing is held on a server, there is nothing for the developer to delete on your behalf.
Does the app report crashes?
Yes. If MemoWho crashes, a diagnostic report is sent so the fault can be found and fixed. These reports contain technical information about the crash and your device — never your entries, your location, or your name. The privacy policy describes exactly what is included.
Which devices are supported?
MemoWho is available for Android on Google Play. It is built for phones; there is no tablet layout at present. An iOS version is on the way.
